Joris Laarman Lab
Joris Laarman (1979), one of today’s most striking designers, could just as well be described as an artist or an inventor. In his ‘lab’ in Amsterdam, he conducts cutting-edge experiments together with engineers, programmers, and artisans combining art, science, and technology, in the course of which the manufacturing processes often are as innovative as the end results. His designs have already been bought by prestigious museums as the MoMa, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Centre Pompidou. This was his first major exhibition, which subsequently toured to other museums internationally.
