The Groninger Museum ownes a beautiful collection of paintings by the School of Barbizon and the Hague School, brought together bij collector Reurt Jan Veendorp. Veendorp had an eye for kwality and new how to purchase work by the most important artists.
On show in Museum Gouda are for instance: Paul Gauguin, Odilon Redon, Mathijs Maris, Jan Toorop, Floris Verster and Jan Mankes.
A part of the Arntzenius-collection of Museum Gouda moved to Groningen for this year and is on show in the exhibition 'From Courbet to Israëls, a visit form Museum Gouda.
